Development of e-Modules for Scientific Writing Courses at the Department of Biology, Padang State University

Abstract
This research is motivated by the development of the 4.0 revolution era and the media used in the learning process has not adapted much to technological developments. The purpose of this research is to design an e-module using a professional flip pdf application in the course of writing scientific papers. The type of research used is development research that uses three stages of 4-D models, which consist of the define, design, and develop stages. The subjects of this study consisted of 2 validators, 1 lecturer. courses, and 26 students for writing scientific papers in the Department of Biology, State Padang University. The data used in this study is primary data obtained directly from research subjects through validity and practicality tests. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis in the form of percentages. The data collection instrument in this study was in the form of a validity test questionnaire and a practicality test. The research resulted in a product in the form of an e-module for learning biology in the course of writing scientific papers. The resulting module is categorized as valid by the validator from the feasibility of graphics, content feasibility, presentation feasibility, and language components with a validity value of 83.10%. The modules produced are also categorized as practical by course lecturers in terms of ease of use, effectiveness of learning time, attractiveness, and benefits with a value of 82.29% and categorized as practical by students with a score of 84.72%. From these results, it can be concluded that the e-module in the course of writing scientific papers is valid and practical. The research is expected to help the online/online learning process.
