Abstract

In this 21st century, humans are required to have skills. One of the things that can be done to improve these skills is by using and implementing HOTS-based learning. This study aims to conduct a literature review of several articles to examine the effect of Creative Problem Solving (CPS) on students' creative thinking skills. Five articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant effect of CPS on students' creative thinking skills in the context of biology learning. The study showed that students in the experimental group taught using the CPS model had higher mean scores in creative thinking compared to the control group. In addition, it was also found that the application of CPS not only improved students' creative thinking skills but also had a positive impact on their cognitive learning outcomes. Overall, this study contributes to the understanding of the effectiveness of CPS as a learning model in promoting creative thinking skills among students. The results of this study can provide insights for educators and researchers in developing innovative and effective teaching strategies that can improve students' creativity and learning outcomes.
